Normet announces the launch of HX-Bolt, a hybrid anchorage system designed to deliver immediate dynamic support after installation while enabling permanent reinforcement through resin or grout encapsulation. Developed for underground mining applications, HX-Bolt combines the benefits of mechanical and bonded anchorage in a single support solution.

HX-Bolt has been developed to address the industry's need for ground support that delivers both rapid stabilisation and long-term reinforcement. The bolt achieves immediate anchorage through a combination of mechanical expansion and frictional anchorage, providing full dynamic support immediately after installation without requiring resin or grout. Once installed, the system can be encapsulated with injectable resin or grout to further enhance anchorage performance and provide long-term corrosion protection.

Designed for single-pass installation, HX-Bolt integrates primary and secondary support into a single reinforcement system. This helps underground operations maintain development efficiency while establishing reliable long-term ground support. The system is suitable for a wide range of ground conditions, from competent rock to highly fractured and very weak ground, making it a versatile solution for varying underground environments.

A yielding hollow bar enables the bolt to absorb rock displacement and dynamic energy while maintaining load-bearing capacity. This allows HX-Bolt to provide robust support in demanding conditions, including seismically active environments, squeezing ground, and excavations where deformation management is critical.
